The Perfect Christmas Present

So I've been thinking about how Christmas is coming up pretty fast and therefor decided to create a post about buying the perfect Christmas present!  Of course everyone has their own personal opinion on what the perfect present will be for Christmas 2009, and taking into consideration that everyone is different, I doubt there will be identical ideas on this topic out there.  So if everyones opinion is different, then how can there possibly be a perfect present?  Well, here's my answer to the age old question. 

Buy what you personally take a liking to.

The first thing that comes to mind the moment it's time for Christmas shopping is not "What will they like?", but rather; "What would I like?"  No, I'm not being a selfish person, I'm being a loving person.  What can be better then ditching the genetic, everyday gift ideas then to give your friend a piece of your own personality?

E.g 1, You're out looking for your eight year old nephew's christmas present, what do you buy?  Something that makes you wish that you had one when you where younger.  Say, if you're a mechanic and frequently not only work with, but obsess over cars, then how about buy your nephew a remote-control car?  I know, this idea may be genetic but it's one hundred percent you.  And when the gift is one hundred percent you, and fits the receivers age perfectly, then you can't be wrong!

E.g 2, You're out looking for your fourteen year old niece's christmas present, what do you buy?

When looking for a present for a fourteen year old girl, you have to hit the mark in between a child's present and an adults present just right.  And seeing as you have no clue to what 'just right' is in this department, you're pretty much screwed.

All you know is that if it where your present, you'd buy yourself some jewelry to go in your flashy jewelry box.  Work off that.  Jewelry is attractive and sparkly, and lets face it, your jewelry box looks pretty damn magical.  So what you will have to find for your niece needs to be attractive, sparkly and magical (hey, its you, right?), all while hitting her age group perfectly.  Get your niece a decorated musical box (not a musical jewelry box - just a musical box, girls at this age do not where much jewelry) that reminds you of a treasure chest or of something magical, and fill it with all kinds of treasures!  A long, silver coloured necklace, a miniature pocket watch, vanilla body spray or perfume, different wishing stones, small smelly candles, a butterfly or dragonfly sun catcher, your nieces favorite chocolates and a masquerade mask.  By buying this, you're not only refraining yourself from buying something horrifically genetic (socks, clothes, lipgloss, CDs), but you'll manage to give your niece a present that she'll actually be interested in.
